941. Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if a problem has been identified in the driving licence application system where some persons who have already completed a medical exam have been told they need to take another medical exam because of an error in the system. The operation of the National Driver Licensing Service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority.  I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
