622. Deputy Colm Keaveney asked the Minister for Health the number of children aged five or under who currently are holders of a medical card or of a GP-only card; the proportion of the total national population this represents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21330/14]

The number of children aged five or under that currently hold medical and GP visit cards is 180,000, which represents almost 43% of the national population for this age group.
