Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the number of decommissioned former Garda stations that have been handed over to community and voluntary organisations; the number of those which are being actively considered by his Department for handing over; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Commissioners of Public Works have assigned seventeen former Garda stations to local community and voluntary groups subject to agreed licence. The Commissioners are currently examining proposals from community and voluntary groups for a further five former Garda stations.
