88. Deputy Jerry Buttimer asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding securing a site for a school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27704/14]
View answerMy Department has been working in conjunction with Cork County Council towards securing a permanent site to meet the needs of the school referred to by the Deputy. I can confirm that potential options have been identified and the Department is progressing the current preferred option. However the acquisition of the preferred site option is subject to the completion of a process which is currently ongoing. The building project for the school referred to by the Deputy was included in the list of projects announced on March 2012, as part of the 5 year School Building Programme, to commence construction in the years 2015/2016.
