View answerI understand from the correspondence submitted by the Deputy that the person concerned has made a complaint to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission. The Ombudsman Commission is an independent body which was set up under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 to receive complaints made by members of the public concerning the conduct of members of the Garda Síochána. It is independent in the operation of its functions and I have no role in its consideration of complaints.
