The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is the statutory body responsible for enforcing consumer protection legislation in Ireland and is statutorily independent in the performance of those duties. I, as Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, have no direct responsibility in this regard.

As the issue raised by the Deputy may have consumer protection implications, I have referred the matter to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission for its attention.
