142. Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Taoiseach the basis on which it was agreed that a person (details supplied) would be remunerated for working on the review of the action taken by An Garda Síochána pertaining to certain allegations made by Sergeant Maurice McCabe, for example by means of an hourly rate or a set fee for the work; the amount of such rate or fee; if an invoice has been received from the person for the work carried out; the amount of any such invoice received; if the person has been paid for this work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Due to the nature of the task involved it was not possible to specify a fee in advance. Payment will be made following receipt of an invoice and statement of the work undertaken. As yet, no invoice has been received or payment made.
