The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the detailed allocation of resources and for the day to day management of An Garda Síochána. The Garda District and Station Rationalisation Programme was implemented in An Garda Síochána during 2012 and 2013, resulted in the closure of 39 Garda stations in 2012 and 100 Garda stations in 2013. I am advised by An Garda Síochána that under the Policing Plan 2013 Garda Station Ballitore, Co. Kildare was closed and its future use is a matter for the Garda Authorities in conjunction with the Office of Public Works.
