353. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he has met the Dublin city manager to discuss the restoration and enhancement of O'Connell Street, Dublin 1 during this important centenary year, given the failure of various Dublin city managers over nearly two decades to progress enhanced planning for this premier and historic street; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under section 30 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) I am precluded from exercising any power or control in relation to any particular case with which a planning authority or the Board is or may be concerned. Therefore, any questions regarding progressing particular planning projects should be directed to the relevant planning authority, in this case Dublin City Council.
