133. Deputy David Stanton asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform his progress in drawing up plans to alleviate flooding in Midleton, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10744/16]
View answerI am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that a flood relief scheme for Midleton, Co Cork is being progressed by Cork County Council which will act as the Contracting Authority for the works. The Council is currently preparing tender documents for the procurement of consultants to design the scheme and to take it through the planning process and onto, subject to a viable scheme emerging, construction. The OPW has made an allowance for the cost of the project in its multi-annual financial profiles.
