Deputy Willie Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Skills the changes he will make to the RACE scheme, following significant criticism of the current operation of the scheme by the Ombudsman for Children and the way it applied to students with learning difficulties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations. The Commission in this regard operates a scheme of Reasonable Accommodations in the Certificate Examinations.
