19. Deputy Fiona O'Loughlin asked the Minister for Health if asthma sufferers that have to cease medication during pregnancy can rejoin their medication programme without being penalised in any manner; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20800/17]
View answerI understand that the medication in question relates to Omalizumab (Xolair), a drug used to treat asthma. The provision of treatment to patients is based on clinical criteria and is a matter for the treating Consultant. Individual patients should consult their GP or treating consultant in relation to their participation in a medication programme.
