Questions (90)

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

90. Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that reductions in death and disability achieved under the national stroke programme may be compromised by the inability of stroke care teams, whose resources fall below minimum international standards in every hospital, to cope with the expected increase of 50% in the number of strokes in the next five to eight years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy's question relates to service matters, I have arranged for the question to be referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply to the Deputy.
