Deputy Joan Burton asked the Minister for Health the position regarding Ireland's future membership of the European research infrastructure project on biobanking, BBMRI-ERIC; if it is planned that Ireland will join BBRMI-ERIC in the future; and if so, when the agreement will be signed. The complex issue of membership of the BBMRI ERIC referred to by the Deputy is currently being given active consideration by my Department informed by the views of stakeholders including the HRB. No decision on membership has been taken at this point.
