Deputy Lisa Chambers asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the status of the planned extension of the M17 from Tuam to Claremorris; if the project will be included in the forthcoming NDP; the position regarding CPOs and funding; the commencement date for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerAs Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for overall policy and funding in relation to the national roads programme. The planning, design and operation of individual road projects is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland under the Roads Acts 1993-2015 in conjunction with the local authorities concerned.
