1320. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of clerical officers and clerical assistants in his Department on temporary contracts by years of service; if these officers will be offered permanent positions in the Civil Service when they have served a fixed period of time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are currently 7 Clerical Officers on temporary assignment in my Department.  There are no Clerical Assistants.

The duration  and period of a temporary contract varies from post to post. There is no entitlement to a permanent position.
