Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of gardaí that undertook each category of Garda driving training course in each of the years 2016 to 2017 and to date in 2018; the frequency with which each category of driving test is held; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerAs you will appreciate, it is the Garda Commissioner who is responsible for carrying on and managing and controlling generally the administration and business of An Garda Síochána including by arranging for the training of the members and civilian staff of An Garda Síochána and I, as Minister, have no direct role in the matter.
I have requested the specific information sought by the Deputy from the Commissioner and I will write to him directly on receipt of same.
