Deputy Jack Chambers asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if a mechanism is in place to ensure there are regular medical checkups for Defence Forces members who are using or are in contact with products containing toxic substances to identify changes in health or fitness; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have been advised by the military authorities that Defence Force Regulations require all members of the Defence Forces to undergo an annual occupational medical examination.
