278. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Education and Skills to indicate if the possible entitlement of a person (details supplied) to special needs assistant incremental credit for work in a community preschool for 11 years prior to becoming a SNA will be investigated. [43472/18]

Circular letter 0139/2006 issued by my Department sets out the agreed scheme of incremental credit for Special Needs Assistants. As the service did not meet the terms of the scheme the application was refused by my Department on May 18 last.
