Questions (504)

Clare Daly

Question:

504. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to increase the frequency of the southbound Dundalk train between 6.30 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. in view of the fact that changes to the DART timetable have had a knock-on effect on the commuter line and have increased the journey time (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport, nor decisions on the scheduling and timetabling of services.

The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA), in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann, and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 42A
