613. Deputy James Lawless asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection when an illness benefit payment for a person (details supplied) will be normalised; the status of changes to the system which has resulted in delayed or irregular payments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [47891/18]

The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned was certified and paid up to the 18th of November 2018.

If he remains ill and unfit for work, a further medical certificate should be submitted to the Department as soon as possible in order for further payments to issue.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
