View answerThe mechanism for the repatriation of prisoners from the UK to this jurisdiction is the 1983 Council of Europe Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, which is given effect by the Transfer of Sentenced Persons Acts 1995 to 1997. Applications for the transfer of prisoners from the UK to this jurisdiction will continue to be processed through this mechanism.
