I propose to take Questions Nos. 175, 176, 178 and 188 to 205, inclusive, together.

The following table sets out the position with regard to the flood relief schemes referred to in the Deputy's questions. These schemes are being advanced by both the Office of Public Works and the relevant Local Authorities and are at various stages of design and implementation. It would not be feasible to detail all the various works elements involved in the construction of these schemes. However, all the schemes have many of the construction works elements common to most flood relief schemes including reinforced walls, earthen embankments, culverts, dredging, pumping and other associated drainage components.

Scheme

Current Status

Camac River, Co. Dublin

Tender Documents for appointment of consultants being assessed by DCC prior to being placed on e-Tenders. Not possible at this stage to indicate commencement date.

Clonakilty, Co Cork

Construction commenced in April 2018.

Crossmolina, Co. Mayo

Detailed design being progressed following Public Exhibition in May 2018. Commencement possibly 2020.

Dodder, Co. Dublin (Phase 2C, 2D, 2E ongoing)

Nearing substantial completion. RDS wall is awaiting Part 8 planning from DCC prior to commencement. Beaver Row element is starting in January 2019 following agreement with landowners.

Douglas & Togher, Co. Cork

Currently at detailed design stage with procurement of civil works contractor to commence shortly. Construction commence mid 2019.

Ennis Lower, Co. Clare

Substantially complete. Bank Place works outstanding

Ennis South, Co. Clare

Tender award stage. Commence construction early 2019.

Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

Public Exhibition early 2019. Commence construction 2020.

Glanmire & Glashaboy, Co. Cork

Scheme has been submitted to Minister for Public Expenditure & Reform for confirmation under the Arterial Drainage Acts. Construction commence mid 2019.

Gort Lowlands, Co. Galway

Feasibility studies ongoing

King's Island, Co. Limerick

Consultants to submit for planning in Q2 2019. Construction commence 2020.

Lower Lee, Co. Cork

Currently at Detailed Design stage. Scheme to be submitted to Minister for Public Exhibition & Reform for Confirmation in first half of 2019. Phase 1 construction commence in 2020.

Awaiting approval to commence to construction

Outline design stage where the preferred option for the scheme is being developed. Environmental assessment and final reports on the scheme development are due for completion Q4 2019 following that the scheme will move to the planning stage. Possible construction commencement 2022.
