294. Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation the amount spent on social media by her Department in 2016, 2017 and to date in 2018; the projected spend in 2019; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [53983/18]

Details of expenditure incurred by my Department and its Offices over the period 2016 to date on social media are set out in the table below.

It is not possible at this stage to provide details of the projected spend on social media in 2019 as projects where the use of social media may be considered beneficial will only be identified over the course of the year.

My Department and its Offices use external media providers having regard to the business needs for such services. In engaging such providers, the Department and its Offices are mindful of the need to secure value for money and, accordingly, strive to keep costs to the minimum.
