Questions (74)

Louise O'Reilly

Question:

74. Deputy Louise O'Reilly asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the Med 2 form needs a signature from the spouse of the claimant; the arrangements made to facilitate a claim without this signature in cases in which the claimant and spouse are estranged, for example, in the case of domestic abuse; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Form MED 2 referred to by the Deputy appears to be a Revenue form used in connection with claiming certain medical expenses tax reliefs and as such does not fall within the remit of my Department.
