Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Health the estimated cost of converting ambulances with excessive mileage into emergency equipment carriers; the number of such vehicles being converted; if they have been replaced by new ambulances; the cost-benefit analysis carried out on this decision taking into account the increased maintenance costs of older vehicles; if consideration was given to the use of specialised vehicles for this task; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
