490. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if an organisation (details supplied) will be representing Ireland at a dog show in China in April 2019; if so, his views on same in view of the fact that China is a country with few or no animal or dog welfare laws or regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Irish Kennel Club is a private organisation and, therefore, any decisions taken by it are strictly a matter for its members.

However, I understand that the Irish Kennel Club have indicated to my Department that they will not be attending the dog show in question.
