Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the recent survey conducted by an organisation (details supplied) which showed a severe lack of services and large out of pocket costs for the 800,000 persons living with neurological conditions here; and the steps he will take to address the deficits in care and services for persons with these conditions [13048/19]
View answerThe overarching principle governing the planning and delivery of health services and supports for adults and children with identified conditions is that they should be integrated, as far as possible, with services and supports on a whole of population basis.
It is acknowledged that, in some areas, there are service deficits. However, the Government, together with the HSE and others is working to address such deficits, most notably through the Sláintecare reform programme. It is the Government's aim to ensure that all citizens can be offered the right care in the right place at the right time.
