83. Deputy Brendan Ryan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if there are no barriers for a person (details supplied) to apply for dual citizenship between Ireland and Sri Lanka; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14562/19]

However, the acquisition of Irish citizenship may have implications for other citizenship(s) held by the person concerned, including automatic loss of those citizenships. Accordingly, applicants for Irish citizenship are advised to check the position with the relevant authorities of the State(s) concerned.
