Deputy Joan Burton asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the number of submissions received by the Office of Public Works regarding its strategic review of the Phoenix Park; the expected timeline to publish a report on the consultations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerDuring the observation period, which ran from 19th March 2019 until 31st May 2019, one thousand, five hundred and twelve (1,512) comments were submitted to the Office of Public Works in respect of the Draft Phoenix Park Visitor Experience Strategic Review. OPW is now engaged in a detailed process of reviewing all of these comments and observations. It is not possible at this stage to say when this will be completed.
It ought to be appreciated that the draft review is not a formal development plan or strategy for the Phoenix Park. It is not a formal statutory document of any kind or part of a statutory public consultation process. OPW remains open to, and indeed welcomes, any further observations and comments from any party.
