181. Deputy Louise O'Reilly asked the Minister for Health the estimated capital costs of providing 100 additional hospital beds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27331/19]

There is no one capital cost for providing additional hospital beds. The capital cost is dependent on the nature of the additional hospital bed (e.g. Day Case, In-Patient, Intensive/Critical Care), the clinical speciality and where the additional beds will be provided (e.g. within an existing hospital, as an extension to an existing hospital or through the development of a new hospital).
