Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade the breakdown of costs for his Department associated with the visit of the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump; the number of personnel dispatched; the number of overtime hours worked by staff; the transportation and other associated costs involved in sending Departmental staff to County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The recent visit of the President of the United States of America and First Lady Melania Trump to Ireland served to support the promotion of Ireland’s interests in the US and also contributed to the development of our strong economic, political and cultural links with the US.
