The 2019 capital allocation for my Department is €73.8 million and is broken out across programme areas in the 2019 Further Revised Estimates https://www.chg.gov.ie/app/uploads/2019/05/33-fre19.pdf. In addition, a sum of €700,000 was available by means of capital carryover from 2018 and was expended in full by the end of April 2019.

Details of capital expenditure by my Department and all Government departments are published by the Department of Finance on a monthly basis at

https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/e5ec1c-fiscal-monitor-may-2019/

Capital expenditure to 31 May 2019 for my Department amounted to €21 million - approximately 80% of profile. Any underspend against profile within my Department's Vote is largely due to timing issues in relation to the drawdown of funding across a number of projects and subheads which it is anticipated will rectify by year end.  All expenditure within my Department's Vote will continue to be carefully monitored between now and year end to ensure the best use of available financial resources.
