Deputy Anne Rabbitte asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if Galway County Council or Transport Infrastructure Ireland has ownership of the road connecting the motorway to the local road at a site (details supplied); if the public has a right of way to the road as per the Roads Act 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerAs Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, I have responsibility for overall policy and funding in relation to the national roads programme. Under the Roads Acts 1993-2015, the planning, design and construction, including the procurement and compulsory purchase of lands, in respect of individual national roads is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), in conjunction with the local authorities concerned.
