Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the amount collected by Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Luas from persons evading fares in the past two years to date; the number of fines issued by the revenue protection unit in Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Luas in the past two years to date in 2019; the number of fines appealed; the number of successful appeals; the way in which the moneys collected from fines is used by Irish Rail; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
