214. Deputy John Lahart asked the Minister for Finance his plans to deal with the expected reduction in diesel and petrol-fuelled cars as a result of the ambition set out in the Climate Action Plan 2019 regarding the way in which such cars will be disposed of; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is responsible for matters relating to the registration and taxation of vehicles. 

The disposal of vehicles is governed by the European Union (End-of-Life Vehicles) Regulations 2014 and is a matter for the Minister for Communications, Climate Action & Environment.
