689. Deputy Shane Cassells asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the photography costs for his Department in each year since March 2011 including costs incurred from use of the ministerial allowance; the occasions for which photographers were booked; the photographers used; the costs associated with each occasion that a photographer was used in tabular form; if there is a policy regarding the booking of photographers within his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can inform the Deputy that professional photographic services are generally only used by my Department to mark and record significant occasions and campaigns - the vast majority of photography is undertaken by the Department's in-house communications staff as part of their normal duties. Consideration is given at all times to the costs involved when sourcing such services.
