815. Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the cost of interpreters to the Irish Prison Service in each of the years 2011 to 2018 and to date in 2019; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32976/19]

I wish to inform the Deputy that it has not been possible in the timeframe available to collate the information sought, I will revert to the Deputy as soon as this information is compiled.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51
I refer to your Parliamentary Questions No. 815 of 23 July 2019, to the former Minister for Justice and Equality, Mr Charlie Flanagan, TD, in which you requested information regarding the cost of interpreters in each of the years 2011 to 2018 and to 23 July 2019. You will recall that at the time the information requested was being collated and Minister Flanagan undertook to forward the information to you as soon as it was available. I would like to apologise sincerely to you for the delay in issuing the reply to your question which is regretted and I hope the information provided is still of interest. I wish to advise the Deputy that the Irish Prison Service has provided the costs for Interpreter Services for each year from 2011 to 10 July 2019 and this is set out in the table below. The costs per year were extracted from the Irish Prison Service financial management system.
