Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Finance the names of external consultancies that delivered and continue to deliver advice and training on all aspects of GDPR in the context of preparedness and ongoing upskilling of staff regarding the regulation; the cost expended on the external advice and training of same to date in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Finance is aware of its additional responsibilities as a controller and processor of personal data under GDPR. The Department pre-empted the changes in legislation and held GDPR training for staff.

I wish to inform the Deputy of the names of external consultancies that delivered and continue to deliver advice and training - this has been presented in the following table.

This training was completed in preparation of the implementation of GDPR in May 2018 and ongoing CPD for staff.
