View answerThe matter referred to by the Deputy is complex and primarily a consular issue. I understand that consular assistance is provided to all Irish citizens abroad when requested and I have instructed my officials to provide all appropriate support to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade who are the lead State Department in that regard.
