Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a school (details supplied) in County Mayo has been notified that a temporary classroom will not be sanctioned and that the school requires the additional accommodation; the status of an application for a permanent additional classroom; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to advise the Deputy that my Department has recently approved funding for the provision of permanent additional accommodation at the school in question. In assessing the application my Department considered that existing accommodation could be utilised, as an interim measure, pending delivery of the permanent accommodation.
