Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will make contact with Sport Ireland to clarify the role of a member of its board (details supplied) regarding a matter and the appropriateness of this involvement in alcohol promotion while having a role in promoting sport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by Sport Ireland that the involvement of the person mentioned by the Deputy was in a private and personal capacity and that Sport Ireland has no involvement in the matter and no relationship with the corporate entity involved in the matter.
