476. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection further to Parliamentary Question No. 650 of 2 July 2019, if the necessary documentation required has been received in the relevant section in order to facilitate payment of rent support; and if she will make a statement on the matter. According to the records of my Department the most recent rent supplement claim in respect of the person concerned was closed in October 2017 and there has been no record of any application for rent supplement since that date.

It is open to the person concerned to submit an application for a rent supplement payment. A form SWARS 1 has been issued to the person concerned and should be returned with relevant supporting documentation to Newbridge Intreo Centre. When the necessary documentation has been received an Officer of my Department will assess the application and contact the person concerned with a decision.
