Coast Guard helicopter emergency medical support missions are provided on a request basis to the HSE/National Ambulance Service. These services coordinated by the Coast Guard are flown under Commercial Aviation Transport rules and include inter hospital transfers. Coast Guard helicopters also provides day and night
emergency aeromedical services to the island communities.
