Deputy Catherine Martin asked the Minister for Education and Skills further to Parliamentary Question No. 251 of 5 November 2019, if he has explored the possibility of the provision of an ASD unit in the present location of the school in the event that the new school building is delayed due to planning appeals. The school referred to by the Deputy is currently located in interim accommodation.

Subject to availability of accommodation, it is open to the school to establish a special classes within its existing accommodation.

In such circumstances, funding is available from my Department to re-configure existing spaces within the school building to accommodate the class.
