346. Deputy Seamus Healy asked the Minister for Health the position regarding medical card applicants who are in receipt of disability allowance and also have earnings from employment (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [51256/19]

The removal of the requirement for work to be of a "rehabilitative nature" in respect of the assessment of persons with a disability for a medical card was one of the key recommendations of the Make Work Pay for Persons with Disabilities Report. The HSE implemented this recommendation in May 2017.
