Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of veterinary inspectors recruited in his Department in each of the years 2018, 2019 and to date in 2020; the number of veterinary inspectors that left during the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The table below shows the total number of veterinary inspectors recruited by my Department in the years 2018, 2019 and to date in 2020, as well as the total number of veterinary inspectors that ceased their employment with my Department during the same period:
