1103. Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the percentage of those who have been in receipt of the pandemic unemployment payment who previously qualified for a social protection payment; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8911/20]
View answerSince the launch of the Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment on 16th March, 2020, the Department has issued at least one payment to 681,000 people up to week ending May 23rd 2020. I am advised that approximately 13% of these recipients had received a Social Welfare payment in the first three months of this year.
