694. Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government the average length of time of the 733 Part V leases delivered in 2019; the average cost of the leases; the number of these leases in which the property will be owned by a local authority or approved housing body when the lease expires; and the number of these leases in which the ownership will remain in private hands when the lease expires. Of the 733 Part V dwellings delivered in 2019 and supported under the Social Housing Current Expenditure Programme (SHCEP), 719 were delivered under the Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) Part V and are owned by the relevant Approved Housing Body. The remaining 14 dwellings were delivered under a Part V Lease and will revert to the private owner at the end of the lease term. The relevant local authority may seek to renew the lease or acquire the property at the end of the lease term.

The estimated average annual cost in 2020 and the duration of the agreements, for these 733 properties, are set out in the following table.
