597. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the dates and amount of grants and or funding released to the Irish Greyhound Board in the past 20 years to date in 2020. [12117/20]

Bord na gCon is a commercial state body, established under the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry. Bord na gCon is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The document attached provides details of the dates and amounts of grants and funding received by Bord na gCon, from the Exchequer, in each of the past twenty years and to date in 2020. A payment of €2.1m, representing the final payment for 2020, will be paid to BnG in September.
